It’s a must for ANY mobile device. Especially as it covers accidental damage from dropping (at least a couple times)....so an applecare+ is a must for the 12.9?

You have to consider your using 12.9" iPad Pro in a bright environment like outdoors.
well i never get any applecare for my apple devices, ipad pro 12.9 1st gen still pristine, the thing with this new ipad seems yield is low with reports telling us the technology seems not yet ready for mass proIt’s a must for ANY mobile device. Mini LED TVs do not compare to OLED TVs. Just go read any review. So I shouldn't get an OLED LG TV? Better wait for a mini LED tv ?

I've always bought my laptops as refurbs from Apple online, and had great experiences with them but always got the applecare anyway. I had to use it only once but hey when it's a pricey fix then it's well worth it.
The iPad Pro now is getting into laptop territory price-wise, so I'm tempted to start taking the refurb route there too. It would mean waiting awhile but my other iPad is still acting like it just arrived and its only problem is the usual one with gear... the slow inching towards the dread bump of eventual nonsupport of some next iOS.
You have no idea about microled then. Its SO EXPENSIVE and only implemented in very big displays. No, will take a long time to arrive to ipads.By the time Apple releases this miniLED, microLED will be just a few more months away![]()
We'll see how my new iPhone holds up but my previous phone was not an iPhone and it had very noticeable burn in after 2 years.why not OLED? Samsung has large OLED tablets. Better than mini LED will ever be
(don't start about burn in, your iphone doesn't have burn in either)

Just like 2020... a new processor and camera? Hmmmm. New screens across the board would be nice.Imagine what a lame update this 11" iPad Pro is going to be.
And that’s a bad thing why?Yup. Same as with the '2020' models that had no real change. Seems like my Pro will last me five years instead of the usual 2.
Might not be will still have 5G, A14x and who knows maybe thunder port and maybe Touch IDImagine what a lame update this 11" iPad Pro is going to be.
It's also a weird move to not upgrade the 11" screen. How are they going to sell how the new screen without over-shadowing the one from the 11" ?
Evidence?Whoever mentioned MINI LED offering higher maximum brightness to OLED forgot to mention that 1. battery life is adversely affected and 2. Devices can't even sustain maximum brightness levels without overheating.
He's wrong, OLEDs are less efficient than LCDs, especially given the segmented backlighting of the new iPad.Evidence?

I'm tempted bc my old iPad Pro is practically vintage and I've been thinking about the 12.9 when I do upgrade.
Yeah, outdoors, sunshine, I vaguely remember that stuff... 🤨 but only my iPhones know what means "outdoors" so the fine points of OLED v mini-LED debate will not be the pivot for my iPad upgrade when it finally happens.,

The 9.7" Pro was announced half year after the 1st gen 12.9", so the smaller Pro had better display spec. However, the 2021 Pros are expected to be announced at the same timeFor the record, this will not be the first time that the iPad Pro has two different screen specifications.
