The ear seal being nonexistent would account for all your audio problems. I assume you tried different size ear tips? It could be that your ear shape just doesn't fit these earbuds.I did try every single tip. And I did the ear seal test with every single tip and it failed.
I did try every tip and also did the test for each. They all failed. So you are right. :)

I agree with pressing the button when putting them in...super annoying. The ANC is also pretty mid compared to the AirPods Pro 2. But the fit, the weight, and the battery life are all worth it for working out.

I also like to listen to podcasts when going to sleep and the APP2 would always fall out when turning my head to the side. These will stay in but when I turn my head to the side, the button gets hit and the audio stops. They also become a little uncomfortable to wear when sleeping due to the added pressure on the ears.
They are not for sleeping at all. Try Anker’s sleep buds. They’ll solve your issue.

It's a proprietary codec that requires two H2 chips to talk to each other. The prevailing theory on why it's Vision Pro exclusive is that the AirPods are always a few inches from the device.

Hoping this opens up. Would be really cool if case had H2 chip inside and worked as usb-c dongle for low latency lossless.
Apple could also support 3rd party and open codecs.
And still keep their proprietary ones.
Just like they do with photo and video codecs.

Agreed, but they rarely do so at their own volition. Keep the moat up as long as you can.
