arrgh, I wanted to be the 4 millionth poster. Congrats anyway.

Congratulations to jbembe for being the 4,001,987th poster in the MacRumors forums!!!

Your prize, a box containing 4,001,987 iPod socks, each a different color, is now being shipped! :D

You don't know until you read them. And what you find interesting might not be what someone else finds interesting.

This is all relative anyway: the 4,000,000 has to be compared to other forums and the number of posts they have - with the same spread of different types of posts. It's not an absolute. It's not something like this. :D

That's a cool pic, did Absolute really release a gold special edition for the Holidays or is that a Photoshop mock-up? Pretty good either way...

Smokescreen!

This "atta-boy" is just a smoke screen because no one has any info on the iMacs specs! I'll bet the post count is really only 3,965,294 and NOT 4 mil.

What kind of Mac rumor community do we have when T-minus less than 2 days to iMac launch and we don't even have the specs yet! Sheeesh.

:p

Hmmm. How long would it have taken to pass this milestone without the iPhone to comment on endlessly?<wry grin>

ITS A CONSPIRACY DUDE!

Congratulations to Arn and company. This site is a great resource for those of us interested in Apple-related news. The forums are great, and have helped me solve many problems.

Wait...didn't it say that it took 10 months for 3 million posts and 9 months for 4 million?

And I think we'll hit 5 million posts by the end of the year or early January. There are a lot more new people here now than 9 months ago. I'm guessing 10 million posts by mid 2009.

care to make it interesting? :D
that graph is hard to read, also, if apple comes up with any new devices/offerings which brought a lot of people to MR like the iphone did, you might be right.

So when do you predict the total number of iPhones sold will match the total number of posts on MacRumors? ;)

Love the new avatar... :) I will refrain from commenting on iphones :(

Congrats! I look forward to the future expansion of MacRumors.

No one knows it yet, but Apple based websites are going to rule the world!

Congratulations MR, a well deserved milestone.

This site is the #1 resource for all Mac News and Rumors, it provides a great snapshot of the Mac Rumor net in one swoop. I am still shocked to think I was here before post #1, and 3 months before the forums came into existence.

A tribute to Arn and everyone else who has worked to hard to keep MR running.

I look forward to millions more posts to come, and of course 2010, when we have a big 10 year celebration. :apple:

What exactly happened back then? I mean, a forum without posting...

Poster No. 4,000,000

It was a most pleasant surprise when I learned mine was the 4 millionth post on MacRumors. I have been a Mac user early 1989 and an owner since later that same year. I joined MacRumors in 2003 in anticipation of the impending Power Mac G5.

Since 1989, I have purchased three Macs with my own money: a Mac IIcx (1989), a Power Mac 9500/132 (1995), and a dual 2.0 GHz Power Mac G5 (2003). At work, I have purchased several Macs including three beige 266 MHz Power Mac G3s (1998), a PowerBook G3 (Pismo) (2000), a dual 2.5 GHz Power Mac G5 (2005), and two eMacs (2005). Oh yes, I am also the proud owner of an 8 GB iPhone (2007).

Impressive, MisterMe. You're just the kind of long-term dedicated Apple customer it's an honor to honor!
