Is Keychain Access being replaced by Passwords in system settings? What's going to happen to non-password data in things like Secure Notes?

Good question. I also expect Apple to create a better passwords app, somewhat like 1password. Right now it's simply a huge list of passwords, without any possibility of rearrange them.

When is Macrumours finaly going to mention that a LOT of these new functions are (as usual) USA only?
Like "SIRI" instead of "HEY SIRI" only works in a few country's. And there are way more of those new sweets that only work in US (sometimes Canada), the rest of the world can only dream of it.

I'm actually really impressed with all the new features and how well Sonoma is working. I havn't ran into any issues at all so far, it's only seemed to improve things!

Great roundup, thanks for this. Question. What app is this?

That horrendous caps lock icon is CAUSING ME GREAT RAGE. Or minor rage. Or maybe just mild annoyance. Whichever way it goes, I sure wish you could disable it.

Sonoma is awesome and the primary way you will find that out is that it will not be different at all unless you really want it to be. That is how upgrades should be, don't confuse yourself. I am not even joking.

Pretty much. I have noticed it is a little laggy sometimes.

Safari profiles that are continuously brought up as an Sonoma feature are not Sonoma exclusive. My work Intel MBA with Monterrey received a Safari update that enabled profiles.

So many features. Great article. Caps lock on indicator will be really useful.

A lot of good features it seems! Most of them seem like you would never know they exist unless someone told you though lol

This is a fantastic article!

Regarding Nr 7, adding websites to the doc, I find it counterintuitive that it is done via the File menu rather than Bookmarks.

The current way of doing it may make sense from a technical point, but it makes little sense from a UX perspective.

The thing is, if you can read and understand what the article say, chances are that you'll be able to use that function, regardless the country you live in.

Question about those Safari profiles. Is it possible to require TouchID or password in order to switch profile

A great article, shows that there’s a lot more to the new macOS than first meets the eye.

I’m actually a little disappointed now that I can’t upgrade to it, some neat features I’d definitely make good use of!

Still, can’t complain, my Mac Pro is 10 years old, and still gets security updates and also got Safari 17 this week with those same new Safari features from here.

I will upgrade to Apple Silicon eventually, honest 😉

Reactions include Love, Like, Dislike, Balloons, Rain, Confetti, Lasers, and Fireworks. Some reactions are even triggered automatically by the user's physical actions: One thumb up triggers a Like, and two thumbs up are attended by Fireworks. Similarly, one thumb down counts as a dislike, and two thumbs down initiates a rain shower.

Great article, extremely helpful as I am going to install Sonoma today and will no doubt be going back and forward to this article to try the things that have been mentioned :)

My 'work' favourite is a small one, but 'king huge. I work in pre-press and when I drag supplied artwork which was emailed to me to the 'Supplied' folder of a job it has a little envelope icon, clicking it opens up the email that it came from... Instant a**e covering lol
