Ok, guess we'll see- and I agree they can save money with an in house devicw, but they aren't going to get around QCOM's IP. Just not going to happen unless they've somehow figured out a way to defy the laws of physics.I’m thinking your wrong and Ming Ching Kuo is right. Kuo stated that Apple has there Custom 5G modem ready to go. So Apple must have found some breakthrough. Apple would not bring out a non-ready product. Now obviously 🙄 this modem will not touch Qualcomm as far as Global performance modem, but as Long as Apple is saving money and they can market the custom modem as battery 🔋 saving benefit to the consumer, which would result in even more sales for them, then all will be great in Apple Silicon Valley Land.
Apple has in this 7 year custom modem project:
Purchased Intel’s Portfolio of modem patents for 1 billion
Hired all of Intel’s most experienced modem employees
Poach hired the President/CEO of Qualcomm named Esin Terzioglu who has a Ph.D Doctorate in Modem Electrical Engineering
Continues to poach hire and recruit top modem experts in the San Diego area, which is Qualcomms headquarters
Apple canceled there Apple Car 🚗 project to put more focus on this custom 5G modem
I’m thinking Apple has found a way and Apple will prove me right in March 2025 when they unveil it in the iPhone SE 4
BTW- I have engineering friends at all three and own both QCOM and AAPL so I'll be go no matter how it all shapes up.
Cheers
