It doesn't sound as smart and insightful as you think it sounds.
Then explain why! I’m not trying to sound insulting, it’s just there are so many stub forum posts like this that do not then promote further discussion which is the whole point of a forum.

It’s like all the ‘angry’ and ‘dislike’ buttons. Don’t just click something, put some reasoning behind it and defend your viewpoint! One of two things will happen: you’ll sway someone who needed to have their viewpoint deconstructed or they will do the same to you.

We don’t promote critical thinking by just clicking a thumbs down or whatever.

Are you making fun of me because I went to school on a boat off the coast of Florida? Just because it sank during that gator wrastlin’ competition doesn’t mean it wasn’t a legitimate accredited academic institution. It wasn’t, but the gators ain’t got nuthin to do with it.

Btw I “liked” your post so nyah. I’m gonna spend the rest of my day caring about things that actually matter.

I think I can say with confidence that anyone who purchases either an M4 Max or M3 Ultra will have a very fine piece of computing hardware that should last many years. I don’t find much to complain about with either and simply thought the naming was a bit unorthodox and wouldn’t hit that marketing sweet spot that leads to a breakout hit. Both fantastic machines that are very capable, if out of my budget. Enjoy, and take care.

This more speaks to the level of focus Apple has with their pro market. I mean the Mac Pro is still on M2....Why not update that to M3 Ultra?

Ever since the trash can Mac Pro, Apple has been destroying their pro market. It boggles my mind how difficult it can be to build a basic desktop based computer? Almost 13 years now and a company like Apple can't create just a basic desktop computer?

M3 Ultra benefits are getting less compared to the M4 Max option.

There have never been better Macs than there are now, and also there has never been greater saturation of the pro market by Macs than there is now. I know a few people who, after decades of using Windows, switched to Macs with the advent of AS.
